The ProQuest Ebook Central Reader App is a new, dedicated mobile and desktop app designed for reading downloaded ebooks from the Ebook Central platform. It replaces Adobe Digital Editions as the primary offline reading solution, offering a streamlined, secure, and accessible experience for students and researchers. The app supports EPUB and PDF formats, allows users to manage their loans and devices, and is available on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.
The ProQuest Ebook Central Reader App is designed to maximize functionality without taking up significant space on your device. The size of each book file varies, depending largely on a book's format and length. If a book exceeds the available storage on your device the download will fail.
Note: The new app does not replace the ProQuest Ebook Central online reader; it’s a companion tool.
To download a full-text copy of eBooks for offline reading, use the ProQuest Ebook Central App on your phone, tablet, or laptop. Follow the instructions below to download and set up the app.
1. Install the ProQuest Ebook Central App.
- Visit the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and search for ProQuest Ebook Central. Choose the official app with the logo displayed below and proceed with the installation.

2. Open the app and follow the instructions to sign in to the Library’s web version of ProQuest Ebook Central to obtain a Login Code. You can access ProQuest Ebook Central through the CLR’s A-Z Databases.
3. After signing in to the Library’s web version, click the Profile link located at the upper-right corner of the page.
4. Enter the required information in the designated fields, then select “Get Code”.
5. Click “Get Login Code” to generate your code.
6. Enter the generated code into the ProQuest Ebook Central App on your phone, tablet, or laptop.
Note: You can use the ProQuest Ebook Central App on up to 6 devices. Each device requires a separate Login Code. Generate a new Login Code and enter it in the app on each device.
7. Use the ProQuest Ebook Central App to browse and search for eBooks or open titles you have previously added/saved to your “Bookshelf.”
Note: These download instructions are designed for ProQuest Ebook Central eBooks. eBooks accessed through other platforms may require different steps or applications.
